The Value of Friends

From our January 2012 issue

By June Hudy – Paradise Hill, Sask.

There is no way in this world
We can measure
the value of a friend;

Because to say
we can measure it
Would be like saying
We can measure
the volume of water
In the ocean;

Or the height
of the greatest tide;

Or the number
of stars in the galaxy.
Because a good friend
is priceless;

Beyond any measure
we can imagine.
Finding such a precious gift
Is like finding
a valuable pearl;

Once you do,
you hang on to it.
If you have such a friend,
Consider yourself
fortunate indeed.
Never let them go!
