Winter

From our December 2012 issue

By Donna Kucheraway – Mundare, Alta.

Deep falling snow covered the long lane where the imprint of the sleigh had gone.
Horse tracks cut deep into the snow.

The pure white falling snow, covered the thick and beautiful trees.
Soon large flakes nestled against each other, each with intricate design.

Clinging and hugging every branch, a breathtaking view.
In the cabin, the huge fireplace was roaring hot,

Its warmth was very welcoming,
As fresh fragrance of burning cedar was in the air.

The team of horses were driven back down the long lane,
Meanwhile the bells were heard ringing out in the distance.
