Cookies
1 cup margarine
2 cups flour
3 tbsp sugar
1⁄2 tsp salt
1 tsp almond extract
Cream the margarine, add the remaining ingredients. Roll level tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes.
Frosting:
1 cup sifted icing sugar
1⁄2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp cocoa
almond halves
2 tbsp hot water
Combine the icing sugar and cocoa, then add the water and vanilla. Put 1⁄2 teaspoon frosting on each cookie and top with an almond half.
