Going to school

From our February 2013 issue

By Susan YaschukBiggar, Sask.

Talk about modes of transportation! This is one of the ways we travelled to school, called Lizard Lake. The cart was made out of an old car body, I believe a Model-A. The horse was named ‘Tiny’ who lived to about 30 years old.

We had a mile-and-a-half to go to school. As we got older we walked most of the time.

Off to school in about 1947-48 is (left) teacher, Mildred Powel (Fox), Edith, and Marion Murray (cousins). Peeking between twins, Susan and Mary, is mom, Helen Murray.
