Reconnected after 50-plus years

From our January 2013 issue

Dear Readers:

Thanks to The Senior Paper I heard from someone whom I worked for on my first job as a salesclerk in the F.W. Woolworth’s store in North Battleford, Sask.

My boss was Keith Northcut who was manager in North Battleford until he got transferred to Sudbury, Ont. I had gotten to be good friends with his wife, Olga, and family and often thought of them and wondered how they were all doing.

I had a story printed in the November 2012 issue and Keith, now living in Burlington, Ont., was reading The Senior Paper and saw my name. When my phone rang on Sunday evening, Nov. 18, I was shocked, proud, and happy to think Keith and Olga would make the effort to get in touch with me.

We had a great time catching up. It was a good 50 years since we had been in touch.

Thanks, Keith, for phoning and thanks to The Senior Paper for making it possible for friends to keep in touch.
