Our Grandson

From our January 2014 issue

By Hazel (Wellbrock) Lamb – Swift Current, Sask.

As I sit and wonder what I should write about
Memories come flooding back
Some good ones, there’s no doubt
From the time you were a little boy
Right up to six foot three
A fine young man you’ve now become
It is very plain to see.

Each of us must search to find
Our goal in life some day
It seems that you have found yours
And you are on your way.
A future you are building, as solid as a rock,
A home you can be proud of
For your lovely wife and little flock.

It takes children to complete the task
Of making dreams come true.
As each child grows, you soon will see
A major part of you.
The day will come when you look back
On the good times you have shared
And remember happy memories
You have gathered and declared.
