My husband and I milked the cows. When he was coming in late for supper one day, I wanted to have all the chores finished with the help from our children. He said to me: “Just put the kickers on and the cow will be fine.”
We got all the cows milked except one cow. I got the stool and the milk pail and the cow was as gentle as could be.
All the sows were turned out and I took the milk to the house to be separated. When my husband came home he asked how I got along putting the kickers on.
I was amazed that I had forgotten to put on the kickers and the cow never kicked. She was a dear!
