Nobody commented on her shoes

From our January 2014 issue

By Mary (Grona) Burnett – Kelvington, Sask.

I like dancing, so I went to a Wadena Singles Dance once in the wintertime.

I took my overshoes off and went to put on my dancing shoes. I discovered I had one grey one and one black one. I took them off the shoe rack and just put them in my shoe bag.

I didn’t put the light on but luckily they were for the right feet, so I danced anyway because I didn’t want to go home. No one said anything to me about the odd pair of shoes I had on. I told my niece and we had a good laugh.

I enjoyed the dance anyway with the odd pair of shoes. I often laugh about it and will never forget that time that I did it.
