There is a cook in our town
At a restaurant nearby
Who thinks that serving broccoli
Is the only way to fly.
Day in, day out, month after month,
It is broccoli on the plate.
Will someone tell him/her there are
Other ways to vegetate!
Take them for a stroll in the garden;
Or give them a seed catalogue;
The fact that there ARE other vegetables
May emerge from the mental fog.
Other food is served quite fine,
But what many are looking for
Is some kind of truce with the bloomin’ cook
Who started the broccoli war.
