Grandma And The Cake

A teenage boy was telling his grandma how ‘everything’ is going wrong in his life lately – school, family problems, health problems, peer pressure, etc. There was much stress and anxiety in the troubled young lad’s life.

Meanwhile, as he’s explaining his woes, his grandma is baking a cake. She asked him if he would like a snack, which of course he did, so he said yes.

“Here. Have some cooking oil,” the grandmother said.

“Yuck!” says the teen.

“How about a couple raw eggs instead?” she asks.

“That’s gross, grandma.” was his reply.

“Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?”

“Grandma, those are all gross to eat!”

To which his grandma replied, “Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way with a bit of wisdom and experience, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

“Life works in much the same way. Many times we will wonder why we are going through difficult times, however, when we put these time together in the right order with some wisdom and experience, we usually end with something wonderful. That, my grandson, is life!”
