Still has her Queen Elizabeth II coronation cup

From our January 2014 issue

By Vera (Krischuk) Mercier – Prince Albert, Sask.

Vera and her treasured trinkets.

I was a student in 1953 of Cottage Grove School No. 4133 in the St. Walburg district of northwestern Saskatchewan. Every student received a cup that year to commemorate the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

I still have my cup and my Highroads to Reading, Book 6. I’ve read it over and over these many years. I wonder how many of my school friends will remember this?

They are my treasured memories of the past that I will pass down to my children and grandchildren.
